Honeydew Honey

Bee honey from coniferous or deciduous honeydew

This honey has two types: coniferous and deciduous. Its typical colour is dark brown with greenish or greenish-grey tone.

What distinguishes coniferous honeydew honey is its characteristic smell reminding of conifer needles or resin. Its taste is similar. When it is kept in a room temperature it easily crystalizes and delaminates into an upper part – liquid and a lower part – solid.

Deciduous honeydew honey is brown but it is usually brighter than coniferous one. This type of honey tastes sweet but it has a hint of bitterness.

Both types of honey have immunizing properties. It is recommended to fight off airways diseases. It has a beneficial effect on gastrointestinal tract.
